Louise Alexander Gallery will present a solo exhibition of Jay Shinn’s colourful birch wall sculptures along with works from the recent monochrome neon series from the 12 August 2016 until 14 September 2016 at it’s Porto Cervo, Italy gallery space. Multiples of dodecahedral shaped painted woodworks invite the viewer to interpret an implied illusion of three dimensional form. The neon works evoke a similar essence of illusion through controlled properties of atmospheric light and line. Jay Shinn continues his path as one of the most preeminent second-generation artists to work with light – inheriting the mantle of Turrell, Irwin and Flavin. Jay Shinn lives and works between Dallas, New York and Berlin and his works are held within a number of important private and public collections worldwide.
