“Guy Bourdin, Solo Show – The Polaroids”
Louise Alexander Gallery, Porto Cervo, Italy
25/05/2015 to 24/06/2015
Louise Alexander Gallery presents archive works from famous French artist Guy Bourdin with the intention to take visitors on a deeper journey into Guy Bourdin’s extraordinary work unveiling unseen vintage Polaroids.
The Polaroids present something very personal, precious and emotional. The exhibition reflects on black-and-white photography at a time when colour is undergoing so many digital changes.
Guy Bourdin (1928-1991) was first and foremost an image-maker who never seized to learn and explore. The finality of his work was to express himself by pushing his creative boundaries. Mentored by Man Ray, he avoided the limelight, focusing strictly on the creation of arresting pictures.
