Guy Bourdin – Archives

A curated oeuvre of Bourdin will be on display; vintage works consist of B&W shots dating from the 1950s showing portraits of artists, city views of Paris, Polaroid’s, sketches, films, texts and his famous double page spread compositions which spanned his 40 years working with leading fashion houses and magazines.

The exhibition takes a look into the complex working processes of the photographers mind and his journey in establishing his status as a visionary image-maker.

The show will present a feeling of uneasy mystery, impenetrable glamour creating hyper-real landscapes and overpowering colour, contrasting his anonymous creations of the 1950s to the highly fetishized work that came later on.
